Alester Spears
My Goal: To leverage my knowledge of Charleston and the SC coast combined with my extensive business executive experience to assist my clients in buying/selling properties in and around the Low Country. Ultimately, I want to help bring joy to my clients by helping them obtain the best life possible (while supporting them to make the best real estate decisions possible).
Background:
As a South Carolina native, I was born and raised in Columbia, SC and Edisto Beach, SC. My family has deep roots in South Carolina that go back to the 1700's.
I earned a Mathematical Economics Degree from Hampden-Sydney College, Hampden-Sydney, Virginia, 1991. In 2012, I also completed the Negotiations Certificate Program from University of California-Berkeley, Berkeley, CA.
Before becoming a realtor, I was a Healthcare Technology corporate executive for 26+ years. I was President of Healthcare EDI Partners, a Healthcare IT consulting company, for 12 years. My consulting company specialized in mergers & acquisitions, executive leadership, sales evaluation/strategy and marketing analysis/development. I held other various executive sales positions with eMDs, Trizetto and Change Healthcare. After deep thought, I decided to follow my dreams and passions by taking my real estate hobby of 18 years into a full-time career in a place I love the most…the South Carolina coast.
Currently I reside in Charleston and Edisto Beach (home of 44 years) as my permanent homes. Having a city house and a beach house an hour apart within the Low Country has been a tremendous joy. During my corporate career, I previously lived and owned properties in Atlanta, New York City, Nashville and Southern California.
South Carolina is a coastal paradise. I enjoy boating and day trips to many of the fantastic beaches, quaint towns along the coast. I am a competitive swimmer, tennis player and am passionate about international travel. I am a supporter of the arts, animal rescue organizations (and currently have two rescues) and other charitable organizations. My favorite place in the world is our back porch at Edisto overlooking the saltwater marsh watching nature at its finest.
